NATURE OF FIRE

Fire is a chemical chain reaction involving rapid oxidation or burning of fuel.  It needs three elements to trigger fire: fuel, oxygen (o₂), and heat. Fire chain reaction will occur when all three elements are present in the proper conditions and proportion. To prevent or extinguish a fire, only one of the three elements needs to be eliminated.  Fire extinguishers where designed to

eliminate heat and oxygen, or creating barrier between fuel and oxygen depending on the contents of the extinguisher.

Class A, B and C are the most common classes of fire extinguishers and represents 98% of all fires. The contents in fire extinguishers are either liquid or more commonly dry chemicals which interrupt the fire reaction by creating a barrier between oxygen and the fuel source. Dry Chemical is the most versatile and widely used application for extinguishing of the common class A, B and C fires.

The ELIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BALL has been developed to address many of the problems and limitations associated with standard fire extinguishers. It contains the same dry chemicals found in standard fire extinguishers and can be used to stop fire classes A, and monitoring classes B and C. It is simple to use and it has additional protection of self activation in the event of fire without human intervention.

ELIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BALL is a ball shaped fire extinguisher, when thrown into a fire it will activate within three seconds and effectively disperse extinguishing chemicals. When a fire occurs and no one is present ELIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BALL will self activate when it comes into contact with the fire and give a loud noise as a fire alarm.  Because of this feature, it can be placed in any fire prone area such as above electrical circuit breakers or fire prone areas.  There is no special training or skill required to operate the ball and no need to face the dangers of the fire.  No inspection and maintenance are required for the product life span of five years.

ACTIVE USE – THE THROWING OR TOSSING FIRE EXTINGUISHING BALL INTO THE FLAMES

Encountering a fire, an individual will take the nearest available fire extinguishing ball and simply throw it into the fire.  The ball will naturally fall into the base of the flame where it is most needed and activate within 3-5 seconds.  No pins, no need to face the dangers of the fire, no special training or skills required.

PASSIVE USE – SELF ACTIVATING MOUNT

One of the great benefits of ELIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BALL is the fact that it can self activate in the presence of fire when no-one is present (similar to a sprinkler activation).  Unlike a standard extinguisher when someone need to be proactive, if positioned in the appropriate high risk areas where most fire are likely to start, it will self activate upon reaching the appropriate temperature and extinguish the fire. HOW ELIDE FIRE EXTINGUISHING BALL WORKS

When in contact with the flammable fire within 3-5 seconds the fuse at the surface layer of the ball is automatically activated through the fuse breaker at the center of ball. Instantaneously, the breaker explodes and the dry chemical is dispersed covering fire area of 2.25m² (24.20 ft 2 –equivalent to the standard 5 Ib content extinguisher). The outward circular falls from the fire extinguishing ball explosion will assist in removing the oxygen from the fire area and the dry chemical will extinguish the fire.

INSTALLATION

Our Engineers will install the Elide Fire Ball at the recommended positions with quality materials for the life span of the product.  With the Multi-purpose stands/mounts, mounted or simply rest in the stand on a flat surface. Alternatively, it can be placed on a shelf, table or other visible area for easy access. It is best mounted in high risk areas such as electrical circuit breakers, near fire prone areas or overloaded outlets.

We can at a little extra cost incorporate the client’s corporate log onto the fire balls in order to eliminate pilferage and resell at the open market.
